IndyCar Takes It to the Streets (of Toronto), Volume II

Hello Internet! I'm back for the second batch of Toronto goodness. The Race Score World Championship analysis post is coming along really well, but I want it to look good, so it's taking some time. Anyway, on to the scores from the Scott Dixon show:

Observations

- I said that Race 1 was the strictly more entertaining race earlier. But, I am going to say that Race 2 was better for me. I've been on record as a supporter of the Gallant Fox, and watching Dario fight from the back to near the front was shades of the 2012 Indy 500 for me. Yes, he got bailed out by a yellow, but watching him fight back like that kept me riveted all afternoon.

- This has been quite the run for Chip Ganassi's cars. Ganassi has had 3 cars start 3 races beginning in Pocono. Only once has one of these cars failed to have a Top 10 Race Score. That's 8 out of 9 for those who don't want to do math. It's ok, the point of Scoring Indy is for me to do the math for you...

- Dixon's 98.19 is the closest that anyone has been to 100 since Dixon himself did it at Belle Isle in 2012. Fun fact.

- What a weekend for Bourdais! Sebastien must have thought that the last five years had all been a bad dream, and that he'd woken back up in 2007. Seriously, however, I've been waiting to see a result like this from Sebastien all season. You can go back and see how bullish I was on Bourdais earlier in the year, because of what he'd done with Lotus power in early 2012. It just hadn't materialized until now, with the exception of him scoring RSWC points at St. Pete and on Sunday at Belle Isle. Maybe this upcoming string of twisties will be more to Seb's liking...

- Final observation. Carlos Munoz. Get some. I'm not sure what IndyCar seat will be open for him next year, but he should be driving the big cars.

Prediction Review

Here's how I did on the Race 2 predictions (I'm not sure that I'll be doing the "mirror Saturday's predictions" thing in Houston. I thought it would be fun, but it was kinda lame.)

#2inTO Prediction 3) 2 Chevys on the podium this time.

- VERDICT - Basically, I was guessing that something bad would happen to one of the Target Twins. The Gallant Fox having contact on the start and pitting lap 1, not only let me cheer for Dario the underdog (the only time I think I can ever say that) all race, but it also made my prediction come true. 1 for 1.

- #2inTO Prediction 4) Second time's a charm for standing starts

- VERDICT - It certainly was. That was super-pretty. 2 for 2, and 3 for 4 on the weekend. I'll take it.

- Again, the observations will come tomorrow's RSWC-centric post, and hopefully some of what comes from that post, will give us some things to talk about during the second open week before Mid-Ohio, as well.

That's all for now, keep it dialed in to @ScoringIndy on Twitter for updates as they happen!

PS For the sake of my predictions, it feels good to be back turning right...
